TWEED HEADS MEN
7 July 2008
A very quiet week for results as we had two days where no
social bowls played due to the Tweed Heads Prestige Open Mixed Singles event
which was won 25/19 by Mark Casey from Helensvale with the runner-up being
Brett Wilkie also from Helensvale club. Mark now gets the wildcard entry for the
Men's section of the Golden Nugget to be played from Monday 4 August 2008. The
wildcard entry for the Women's section went to AnnMarie Peart on a countback.
AnnMarie is a member of South Tweed and is also employed by the bowls club.

TWEED HEADS TOURERS
There was a total of 35 players for morning bowls last
Sunday contesting the Arthur Renkie Shield against Robina who were the overall
winners for the shield this year. Winners for the Tweed Tourers were Ron Hay,
Des Murrewll and Frank McPhillips.
Next Sunday 13 July the lads have invited the
Ladies to play against a Mixed contingent from Tugun. The list is on the notice
board in the Members Lounge and play will commence at 9.30am.
