The 15th TRUenergy Classic Singles commences on Monday 9th January at Yallourn Bowling Club. Victorian Champion Barrie Lester returns striving to be the first 4 time winner of the event. Lester faces strong competition from his fellow Victorian team mates Nathan Bush and Aaron Wilson. Heading the lady challengers are the trio of three top Victorian young players in local Lisa Phillips now playing with Richmond Union and the Sunbury pair of Elise Cowan and Carla Odgers.

Other strong contenders include former Richmond Union Victorian Masters winner Garry Ball and past winners Neville Brown and Moe's Ian Caines. The strong field of local bowlers is headed by Yallourn's Alan Grubb and Morwell Club's Ian Kirkup.

Lester now playing at Moonee Ponds originates from Lakes Entrance and Wilson comes from Bendigo and Bush from Geelong West. To add to the country flavour we see Cohuna's Frank Tonn and Jan Morton Join Tomakin's Phillip Burns in making the long trip to Yallourn.

Qualifying play will be on Monday and Tuesday with the section winners playing knockout rounds on Wednesday with the semi finals on Thursday morning and the final on Thursday afternoon.

Play commences at 9.00am each day with spectators most welcome. Admission is free and refreshments are available.
